Y'all, I don't know a thing about this except that a bunch of you guys are techie savvy AND during the lock-down, our loved ones were forced to use telemedicine so I thought this might be an opportunity to insert people with a love of long-term care residents into an advisory committee that will likely affect the industry now and in the future. It will cover a MULTITUDE of healthcare services - everything HHSC regulates - but naturally, I am focused on long-term care.
If you’re interested in health information technology, health information exchange systems, telemedicine, telehealth and home telemonitoring services issues, you may want to apply to be a member of the e-Health Advisory Committee. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission executive commissioner will appoint members to the committee to serve a term expiring Dec. 31, 2025.
Applications are due by 11:59 p.m., March 31.
HHSC will consider the applicants' qualifications, background and interest in serving on the committee and will try to choose committee members who represent the diversity of all Texans. For this reason, HHSC considers applicants' ethnicity, gender and geographic location.
Review the e-Health Advisory Committee Application for Membership application letter to find out who the committee is seeking as representatives and if you qualify.
After reviewing the application letter and verifying you meet the qualifications for at least one category, click on the application to apply to be on the committee.
A committee member must regularly take part in committee meetings. They may also have to take part in subcommittee meetings or other related activities. Committee meetings are held about once every three to four months in Austin or at the call of the presiding officer. Committee members aren’t paid to attend or travel to and from committee meetings or related activities.
HHSC prefers that you submit your application electronically, but you may submit the application by email, mail or fax to the following addresses:
