Dear elected representative, please watch this quick 80 second video! And, advocates, let's make phone calls to all 38 of our Texas Congressional Representatives in the House! We need their support for HR8331. We could also use our other Senator, Ted Cruz to support S4280, the Senate companion bill.
We are so fortunate in Texas that we found a champion in our Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn who co-authored the companion bill with U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and for House bill authors Congressional U.S. Representative John B. Larson (D-CT), and U.S. Representative Claudia Tenney (R-NY).
As we approach the end of the session, ask our representatives if they would even support attaching the bill to another health related bill and if they would sign on to the bill this session AND next, if the clock runs out!
This is the second time we've had a bill in Congress but THIS bill is so much better than the last and it is our hope that if it doesn't move this session, we might even ask if the identical language can be pre-filed next session. We are not giving up and we are exploring all avenues because this issue lingers and rears its ugly head over and over, even today.
